William Henry Edwards was an American amateur naturalist, entomologist, and businessman.
Edwards was a pioneer in the West Virginia coal industry, opening some of the earliest mines in the southern part of the state. He was also an accomplished naturalist and widely recognized as an authority on North American butterflies. As a businessman, he was involved in the coal industry, but the study of butterflies remained his passion.
During his lifetime he published some 250 scientific papers on scales, including a three-volume treatise, Butterflies of North America, which is highly regarded for its scholarship and the quality of its illustrations. Edwards paid great attention to the life stages of the insects in question, describing each stage in detail. The illustrations, on the other hand, were drawn by Mary Pirt, a talented Pennsylvania artist, and hand-colored by Lydia Brown.

Zdzisław Beksiński was a Polish painter, photographer, and sculptor, specializing in the field of dystopian surrealism.
Beksiński made his paintings and drawings in what he called either a Baroque or a Gothic manner. His creations were made mainly in two periods. The first period of work is generally considered to contain expressionistic color, with a strong style of «utopian realism» and surreal architecture, like a doomsday scenario. The second period contained more abstract style, with the main features of formalism.
Robert Hill Jackson or Bob Jackson is a Pulitzer Prize-winning American photographer.
Robert attended Southern Methodist University while pursuing a passion for photography. While serving in the National Guard, Jackson became a photographer for an Army general. In 1960, he began working as a photo reporter for the Dallas Times Herald newspaper.
On November 22, 1963, Jackson was assigned to cover President John F. Kennedy's arrival at Love Field and his motorcade through the city. He witnessed Kennedy's assassination, but did not have time to film it. Two days later, however, he was able to photograph the shooting of Lee Harvey Oswald, the accused assassin of President Lee Harvey Oswald, by Jack Ruby in the garage of the Dallas police station. Robert Jackson was awarded the 1964 Pulitzer Prize in Photography for these photographs.
